AnySharp Global World's Best Knife Sharpener (Classic)
AnySharp
New:
£8.99
>> Cutting edg - The best sharpener I have come accross all our knives are now sharp after suffering for many years
>> very small but powerful - big helper in my kichen. since I have bought my knifes are sharp all the time. easy to use, practical dimension.
>> buy it you won't regret it! - Dose what it say it will do, only thing that was silly is the size of the box amazon posted it to me in, could of fit a about 20 of them it it..
>> Works well but...... - After reading the reviews on here I decided to get this knife sharpener. I cannot always get a sharpening steel to give me the best edge, so I thought about giving this a go. If you have knifes that will not sharpen no matter what you do, then this is a great tool. It gives you a new edge on your knifes to then tailor a more lasting sharp edge with the steel. I good product but I would recommend using it with a sharpening steel as well.
>> Anysharp Global Knife Sharpener - Great value for money. My knives are sharp as scalpels. Makes food preparation so much easier using a sharp knife.

Brita Water Filter Maxtra, 12 Pack
Brita Water Filter Systems Ltd
New:
£28.80
>> Maxtra filter - living in a hard water area filtering is a must so I look for value for money cartridges. These fit the bill
>> A filtered year - I am delighted at the prompt delivery of this item and will have to set myself a reminder to repeat the order in 12 months time. Cups of tea are now wonderful made with the water from the filter kettle and I would recomend both the "Breville Filter Kettle" and the bulk supply of filters.
>> Best price I could find on the net - I searched loads of sites & Amazon came up as the best value per cartridge for this product.
>> Great saver - This product is the cheapest filter I've ever found and as good as those I bought from other stores. Delivery is quick. Would recommend it.
>> Brita Water Filter Maxtra - These filter cartridges have made water filtration in the home so easy and they work in a attractive jug. The Amazon pack is very good value for money.

No More Excess, Advanced Digital Luggage Scale
TripNeeds Group Ltd
2009-10-27
New:
£9.59
>> Product Description - Don't get caught out at the airport with overweight baggage. Avoid Excess Baggage Charges! The No-More-Excess! Advanced Digital Luggage scale is the UK's newest consumer weapon in the battle against excess luggage weight surcharges. Most airlines have tight luggage weight allowances now and impose high fees for any checked-in bag that is over the limit. Budget airlines especially will not offer any flexibility even if you are just a few grams over the limits because this is one way they make their money! The smartly designed No-More-Excess advanced digital luggage scale weighs up to 40 kg and is robust enough to handle even the biggest items of luggage. Extremely accurate to 50g (most other luggage scales are only accurate to 100g at best), and weighing only 175grams, the scale is compact enough to take away on your trip without adding to your baggage weight worries. Smart travel cases are also available. Featuring a retractable handle and a stunning blue backlit LCD display, the No-More-Excess! advanced digital luggage scale has it all The No-More-Excess! advanced digital luggage scale is extremely easy to use: Simply attach the strong strap to the handle of your luggage, and lift the scales and bag off the floor. No-More-Excess! will automatically hold the weight of your item so you can set the luggage back down before you read the weight. Wave goodbye to Excess Luggage Charges. Say Hello to No-More-Excess!
>> Luggage Scales - Have only used item once, but it 'does what it says on the tin', despite being more expensive than the 'hook type'. Scales with strap mechanism to attach to handle of case are more functional than those with a hook, as we found the hook kept slipping off the handle, so weighing a filled case became a major operation. It's worth paying the extra to make sure you cases fall within airline weight restrictions!
>> Luggage scale - Arrived quickly and in good order. should have bought one on these years ago- works really well
>> Does a great job - Got great use out of this on recent flights across Europe. With 5 people traveling we were able to weight and arrange our bags so we were never over the weight allowance... and the weights were always extremely close to the airline scales. A must have!
>> Luggage Scales - We had read about this product prior to buying and the reviews we had read seemed to lean towards the product, therefore we were really pleased with our purchase, it was everything the manufacturer claimed. We have used it often with no problems developing at all. Would highly recommend.
>> a good help for your travel - this product is very helpfull and can avoid an extra payment at the airport when you're doing the check in..it same made with economic parts, but it's not true..it's very strong and looks cool.. you must buying this great stuff!!!

Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser
Panasonic
2007-05-29
New:
£87.64
Used:
£72.99
>> Panasonic Breadmaker SD255 - I have had a Panasonic breadmaker for several years and have used it every time we needed a lof of bread. The new Panasonic Breadmaker SD255 has 2 new features - the most helpful is the raisin/nut dispenser. The dispenser automatically dispenses the raisin/nuts/seeds into the breadmixer at a later time and then mixes the dispensed contents into the breadmix. The other new feature is the ability to prepare and bake a rye bread, using the programming and a special rye bread dough blade.
>> I just made my first bread ever - I was so happy to receive this bread-maker as I was impressed by all the reviews and must say that as I just ate the first bread I ever made in my life it was fantastic. I followed the bread recipe from attached book for olive bread and it was very easy to make it and tastes very very good. I already look forward to try a new recipe next day.
>> Loved it! - I bought the breadmaker for my boyfriend birthday. He opened the packet yesterday and since then he already made 2 loafs! We tried the standard white loaf and the Italian focaccia with sun dried tomatoes and olives, following the receipts in the book that comes with the breadmaker. Great bread and so easy to make! We loved this breadmaker!
>> WOW! What a machine! - This breadmaker is excellent! If you follow the instructions properly and use decent ingredients you will get a great result every time. It makes excellent dough types too if you'd rather raise it yourself and make cobs, sticks etc.
>> Value for money! - Recently bought this Bread maker after going thro' plethora of reviews as we didn't had any idea about breadmakers. Produces tasty yummy bread with simple effort. Family members were sceptical about buying it but now the bread is gone within minutes of baking!! But you have to follow the instructions as instructed. Very pleased with the purchase.

Ciroa Miniamo Wire Cupcake Tree / Stand for 23 Cakes
Kitchen Craft
2008-07-07
New:
£12.48
>> miniamo wire cup cake tree for 23 cakes - I have recently bought this after seeing it with a beautiful display of cup cakes at a money raising event for Haiti at my daughter's school this term. Since then I have come across another idea and that is to fill it with different fruit which seems to be a great way of displaying the fruit as well as tantalizing young people towards healthy eating.I am most delighted with my purchase.
>> So so classy - This is a lovely product It feels a bit rickety when you first assemble it but its actually quite sturdy Its an incredibly classy looking stand, and changes a boring plate of cupcakes instantly into something really quite spectacular Its easy enough to assemble and comes apart ok if you are careful and goes back into its original box so relatively easy to store too. If you are having a party and want to make it a little more special consider this. Its great.
>> As good as it looks - Nice little display item. Bought it for a friends birthday who loves tea and cakes - perfect, she loved it! has a tendency to not sit straight if not assembled properly. Looks great with cakes on :D
>> Cup Cake Carole - I purchased this product to display cup cakes I make for birthday tea's & party's it does this to perfection & looks very impressive. I also found it very easy to assemble & clean, the price is very good too. I would recommend this item to all cup cake makers, it is a great way to display your cup cakes & it holds more than your average cake stand. One very happy customer.
>> Excellent display - I love this cake stand, it makes a great display, on any occasion, and has the wow factor. Quality was very good, and excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this stand for amatuer and experience cooks alike.

Morphy Richards 48710 Oval Slow Cooker Stainless Steel, 3.5 Litres
Morphy Richards
2004-01-15
New:
£17.10
Used:
£15.75
>> Brilliant - This is great, have had a few meals from it now and they have all been lovely. Easy to use and easy to clean. Would recommend.
>> Oval slow cooker review - It came securely packed within two days of being ordered, had clear instructions, and does "what it says on the tin". It casseroles food very well, but slowly. The only slight point to watch is that it takes a very long time to heat up. The instructions hint at this, telling you to add boiling water at the outset. An even better way, I discovered, is to pre-heat the oval earthenware pot (which lifts out very easily) in the main oven for 15 minutes or so. This saves about two hours on cooking time ! Another minor point is that poultry must be cooked 'jointed' (i.e. in portions) rather than 'entire', as there isn't sufficient heat to cook the interior of an entire chicken at a high enough temperature. But this is correctly reflected in the recipe book, so you won't easily go wrong.
>> morphy richards slow cooker 48710 3.5litres - having bought one each for our son and daughter, we liked it so much, we bought one for ourselves! It is such a great product, looks fantastic, cooks beautifully, and is easy to clean. I make a vegetable casserole cooked on med. heat, then twenty minutes before end of cooking time, I thicken the gravy, turn the heat to high for twenty minutes, then quickly add the dumplings and cook for thirty minutes more, great. The rice pudding is to die for, much better than the oven method as it can be left to it's own devices. Oh, and the price is great too!! We are vegetarian, so I part defrost quorn chicken style pieces, and add these to the veggies, I also find that onions are best sliced thinly for better cooking. No need to add salt either if you use a good stock, i.e bouillon powder mixed with boiling water, and a little fresh ground pepper. A true five-star product.
>> enough for a family of 4 - simple to use, safe, perfect for the 2 income family. Food's ready when you get home. Holds an entire chicken (1.4 kg) easily.
>> Happy Slow Cooking - Good value for money. Manufacturer does include a recipe section in its booklet, but it is a bit limited. Would be sensible to buy a recipe book on slow cooking at the same time, so will take my own advice and purchase one. Have used the above several times and find it a useful addition to the kitchen.

Dyson DC25 All Floors Lightweight Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Every Floor Type
Dyson Limited
2008-01-10
New:
£229.99
>> A vaccuum cleaner that actually does the job - and a joy to use! - I decided to invest in a Dyson DC-24 as I wanted a smaller vaccuum cleaner for my small house, and one that would be manouverable and lighweight to lift, without compromising on cleaning ability. I also had to get a cleaner that was quiet as my last one was like a jet fighter going low overhead and the cat used to run for her life with the noise of the machine. I was not disappointed with the Dyson - nice and quiet to use (the cat doesn't get so freaked out when it is switched on), and the design is thoughtful, ingenious and seems robust. Everything is easy to get at and release, and all fit together easily and smoothly with a satisfying 'click'. I had read that suction power was not compromised in spite of its smaller design and this is indeed true - it does a very nice (quiet) job of cleaning the carpets - and floors - and even manages to pick up infuriating threads and sock fluff that my old vacuum cleaner refused to lift. An easy accessible button switches on and off the brush head as desired for carpets/floors and the brush head is very responsive to starting/stopping. A nice surprise was that the cable seems to be a bit longer than the cable of my old machine, which is makes for more convenience, and less changing to a nearer socket. I will be sticking to Dyson from now on - it is definitely worth the extra price you have to pay for such brilliant design and technology. They don't give you many tools with the cleaner- but I will be purchasing more (soft dusting brush, hard brush and flexible extending crevice tool) - all a bit pricey of course but well designed for the job, and I think the old adage comes into play her: "You get what you pay for! All in all, wonderful technology, does the job well and easily and definitely worth the hefty price tag in my opinion. Dyson has another convert!
>> Brilliant engineering - This is an excellent product, I have resisted buying a Dyson for years and have stuck with just any old vacuum cleaner because I was sceptical about the advertising hype. However, when my daughter bought one and told me how good they were, I bought the DC25 Upright and I am absolutely delighted with the purchase. I bought it on offer from Amazon and it is all that it says it is and more. Brilliant design, picks up all the dust and more from all surfaces with consumate ease and is easy to use and empty. Plus all of the accesories and tools that come with it make it the ultimate cleaning device. It is a fine product and it takes a lot for an old cynic like me to come out and say that, after all these years anyway. Jimmy Grimes
>> Dyson DC25 Lightweight Vacuum Cleaner - The Dyson DC25 is a powerful cleaner. Its characteristic design feature is the ball, intended to incease the manoeuverability of the cleaner. In practice it works well, though whether it's a decisive advantage over a conventional cleaner is another matter. I found it a useful feature, although it's a heavy cleaner to manipulate when used over longer periods, belying its description as a "lightweight cleaner". As an upright, it cleans better than any upright I have used before. Carpets cleaned by our existing Bosch cleaner yielded a startling amount more to the DC25 when it was taken over them moments later. Be aware that it's a powerful suction and brush combination : I accidentally let it run over the charger cable of my mobile phone (which I'd carelessly left lying on the floor), which was promptly sucked up, and it was powerful enough to strip the insulation clean off the cable. It has, however, some irritating flaws which seem to me to be design weaknesses. The supplied attachments are of limited use, as they are awkward to use and permit almost no control. There is no way to control the suction power : it's either full on or off. This means that the attachments are of no use for cleaning drapery. Other vacuum cleaners get round this by having a sliding vent on the tube, which can be opened by the user to allow air to 'dilute' the vacuum, permitting curtains to be vacuumed in place without being sucked up the tube. Those users who think that the awkwardness of the hose in use is attributable to its stiffness, and express the hope that it will ease in time to become more flexible, are doomed to disappointment. It is not stiff in use because the hosing is physically stiff (it isn't) but because of the powerful vacuum generated by the DC25's motor, which 'concertinas' the tubing very powerfully, making it awkward to extend and manipulate. It will never become 'flexible' in time. Cleaning stair carpets is an awkward task with the DC25. In order to vacuum stair carpets, you must use one of the two supplied attachments, fitted on the detached 'wand'. Unless you are cleaning only three or four steps, you will need to balance the Dyson half way up the stairs. It is difficult to lift and balance the cleaner in this situation, however, because the handle is no longer attached to the body of the cleaner, and its footprint is big enough to make it unstable to leave alone on a step. The length of the wand combined with the stiffness of the hose and the high suction level make stair cleaning no pleasure at all, and far more laborious than it need be. The only practical use there is for the detached wand and attachments is reaching high corners at ceilings, for cobwebs and the like. The vacuum hose has a connector which snaps in to the wand. This connector is held to the vacuum hose by a push-fit, held in place with two small black plastic lugs which engage in two corresponding slots in the hose. These are physically weak, and during light use when detached from the cleaner and an attachment fitted, one of these lugs sheared off. After this, the hose would not remain attached to the handle, leaving it suitable only for carpet cleaning on flat surfaces. As other users have noticed, the bagless cylinder has a rather small capacity, but it's easy to detach the cylinder and empty it, and just as easy to re-fit it, so it's no disadvantage. The negative comments about the supplied accessories shouldn't be taken to mean this is not a good and effective vacuum cleaner : it is, and it's one of the best floor cleaners I've ever used. It's merely disappointing that its potential for versatility should have been so curtailed by such unexpected weakenesses in Dyson design. Recommended. Postscript: Amazon's straightforward and customer-friendly service policy kicked in quickly when I reported the problem with the broken lugs on the hose. A new DC25 was dispatched by first class delivery, and I am still sufficiently impressed by the general floor cleaning powers of the DC25 to have asked for a replacement over a refund. Consistently top class customer service from Amazon.
>> Love @ First Sight! - I loved this vacuum as soon as I got it out of the box! Handles great and sucks for England. Only areas of concern; fills up quite quickly and handle/lance took me a while to work out how it works.
>> New Dyson - Our Daughters vacuum cleaner packed up so we decided to give her our Dyson DC04 model which had recently had a motor change but was working really well and thought we would purchase the later model DC25. The delivery was quick which i have come to expect from Amazon (probably the most outstanding company in UK for reliability and punctual deliveries)the model looks like it means business and i can't fault it for what it does, it picks up in one sweep but it is let down by the noise. It's at least twice as noisy when used on wooden floors as the older DC04 model which is disapointing. I feel another project coming on for the Dyson team.

Dyson DC24 All Floors Ultra-lightweight Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Dyson Limited
New:
£195.99
>> Who'd write a review about a vcacuum ....? - Yeah, I thought that ... buy one of these beauties and you also might do. Its that good. I have a 2 storey house with tight stairs, and the conventional monster hoover from a decade ago is a big old lump to drag up (DC04 Dyson). I spotted the DC24 in a local store and was amazed by its ergonomic design and light weight but assumed the power would 'suck', but don't be fooled. This thing really vacuums strongly, I'd say better than my much bigger old DC04. I'm a bloke, and its almost a joy to clean up my house now ... what guy would say that! So far I haven't broken it, but it does feel lightly constructed so I won't be bashing it in to things. The ball idea is brilliant, it just works. I really like the switch to turn off the beater bar for hard floors, and all the disassembly levers e.g one quick release to remove the waste bin from the unit, and press again and the bottom pings open to release the dirt in to your waste bin ... very simple. Beater bar is removed in 1 minute and easily re-haired. Dirt capacity is limited, its a small vac, but just empty it more, its no big deal. The accessories seem to work very well. Like others say, a retractable power cable would seem something that would be an improvement if its possible. For older folks who struggle with big heavy 'hoovers', this thing would be a Godsend. Ditch the old skool big uprights, and get this ...
>> My dinky Dyson - It's great. Amazon - as always - came up trumps. Easy ordering, good price, quick delivery, no damage - ALL AOK!
>> My new Dyson - I have just received the Dyson DC24 Vaccuum Cleaner - on the day as specified. Packed securely and on opening - undamaged. I found the assembly of separately packed parts quite simple and was soon giving it a test run.The machine in use is everything it claims to be, light and easy to manoeuvre, all due to the Dyson Ball. The bin is so easy to detach and empty and all switching and locking buttons are well marked and effective. Telescopic handle retracts for ease of stowage. The whole package oozes quality of design and manufacture and I have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars!
>> Very happy - Embarrasing when first used to see how much came out of 'clean' carpets. Minor niggle when husband managed to empty it all over his feet and the kitchen bin a few times till he got the hang of it.
>> Dyson DC24 All Floors - Have had at least 3 different Dysons and was dissapointed with this one. Ok for small homes and flats. Suction not very good. Use of the tools made more difficult compared to the DC07. Tools provided are not very good and the size of connection is different to other dysons. I thought I would use the tools I have collected from owning other Dysons with this model....but they would not fit !!!! Almost feels flimsy. If you have a DC07...then stick with that ! Very Dissapointed !
